The AR Delta Juneteenth City PRIDE Day of Empowerment
This weekend the nation celebrates the 150 Anniversary of Juneteenth.   The AR Delta Celebration will take place on Saturday June 20th at the West Dumas Community Family Life Center located at 501 W. Bowles. 

City PRIDE  is joined by other  groups including "Each One Help One," "Save Our Youth," "Stop the Violence, ABYYS and others will be the host presenter and are inviting the entire community to be a part.  A list of scheduled activities include: Live Entertainment with local and statewide groups, empowerment Speakers from across the city, county and state speaking out on the subjects of Faith, Love, Hope and the Power of Freedom and Oneness. 

There will be a special salute to Father’s, Dad’s and young boys and men of color. The College of Aspiring Artists will present an Edutainment Voucher Give-a-Way.  A total of 50 Vouchers for aspiring artists and creative talents will be given for persons to take free course from The College of Aspiring Artists.

The City of Dumas Fire Department will present “Fire Safety and Education with the Dumas Fire Truck and Safety Crew.”  Dr. Blanche Hunt will be on site with the City PRIDE Mentoring Program which includes training and mentoring for 1 year for new mentors plus applications for parents/guardians who want to sign up their children to be mentored during the Summer “Say Y.E.S. Camp.  

Way Maker Ministries of New Orleans program, Each One Help One will be on site with food and household product distribution for families needing extra support for the summer months.  The will also show documentary films at HMC on Friday night focusing on gang and crime prevention.  City PRIDE will also giveaway t-shirts and other items.   And the famous “Hugs and Hot Dogs” will be for everyone in attendance.
